Support and refunds
Support and refunds: sending the support info, what support covers, and asking for a refund within 14 days.
Updated in 1.7.1
What it does
For support, email [email protected]. RoomCaddie creates a short summary of itself called support info, so support can help without touching your PC. If RoomCaddie is not for you, you can get your money back within 14 days of buying it, no questions asked.
Before you start
- For help, open RoomCaddie. You get the support info from Settings.
- For a refund, find your purchase email: the one with your key and the download link.
Step by step
Send the support info
- In the editor, press Settings… and find the Support info row.
- Press Copy support info. The line says "Copied — paste it into your support message."
- Paste it into an email to [email protected] and describe what you saw.
Save the support info to a file
- In the Support info row, press Save to file….
- Pick where to save it. It is a text file with a name that starts with "roomcaddie-support-" followed by the date.
- Attach the file to your email to [email protected].
Ask for a refund
- Reply to your purchase email and say "refund".
- If you cannot find that email, write to [email protected] from the email address you used to buy RoomCaddie and include the name on the order.
You do not have to give a reason.
Settings
| Setting | Where | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Support info | Settings > Support info | Creates a summary for support with versions, screen sizes, tile counts, recent launches and the last 200 log lines. | Nothing leaves your PC until you paste or attach it. |
Good to know
- Names, folder paths and keys are removed from the support info before it leaves your PC.
- Support replies within one or two business days.
- Support covers RoomCaddie itself on Windows 11: installation, the setup wizard, the editor, backups, the key and the update check.
- Support does not cover the programs and sites RoomCaddie starts, Windows, drivers, the projector or the network. The reply explains what RoomCaddie saw and where you can get help.
- Support never connects to your PC or asks for your key, your Windows password or remote access.
- Support does not cover a room file edited by hand. Backups contains a snapshot from before every change.
- The 14 days start at the day and time on your receipt. A request on day 14 is in time.
- You get the full price back, including any tax, through the payment method you used. Your bank or card company may take up to ten business days to show the refund.
- A refund disables the key. Within about a week, each PC that used the key stops opening RoomCaddie and displays a message saying so.
- Your room file and backups stay yours. Uninstalling leaves them in place unless you tell the uninstaller to remove them.
- If an installer bought the key for your room, they need to ask for the refund. Talk to them first about any problems.
- If you have an idea for RoomCaddie, email it to [email protected].
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "use Save to file… instead" | RoomCaddie could not copy to the clipboard. Press Save to file… and attach the file. |
| "Couldn't gather the support info" | Nothing was copied or saved. Try again in a moment. If it keeps happening, email support and describe what you saw. |
| "Nothing was saved — no file was picked." | Press Save to file… again and pick where to save it. |
| "Written but NOT verified" | The file may be incomplete. Save it again to another folder, such as Documents. |
