Courses

The Courses page: every GSPro course on this PC with its size and last round, your stars, notes and tags, and deleting courses you no longer play.

Updated in 1.7.1

What it does

The Courses page shows every GSPro course installed on this PC, its size and the date a round was last started on it. You can give each course stars, a short note and tags, sort and filter the list, and delete courses you no longer play. Your stars, notes and tags stay in RoomCaddie and are never written to GSPro's files.

Before you start

  • Start GSPro at least once. RoomCaddie finds your courses folder using the log GSPro writes each time it starts.

Step by step

Open the Courses page

  1. Open the editor and press Courses….
  2. The line under the title shows how many courses you have, how much space they use, which drive they are on and its free space.
  3. To leave, press ‹ Back to editing, Done editing or Esc.

Sort, find and filter

  1. Under Sort, press Size, Last round started, Name or Stars. Press the same button again to reverse the order.
  2. Type in Find a course to show only courses whose name or folder contains the text you enter.
  3. To filter the list, tap a chip under the sort buttons: All, None recorded for courses with no round started, or any tag.

Rate, note and tag a course

  1. Tap a course in the list. Its panel opens beside the list.
  2. Tap a star under Your stars. To clear the stars, tap the same star again.
  3. Type up to 200 characters under Your note. Your note saves automatically.
  4. Tap a tag under Tags to add it to the course or remove it.
  5. Press Done to close the panel.

Make your own tag

  1. With a course open, press + Your own tag.
  2. Type a name of up to 30 characters and press Enter. The tag is added to that course and becomes available for every course.

Remove a tag you made

  1. With a course open, press Edit tags.
  2. Tap the tag you made. If any courses have it, RoomCaddie asks you to "Remove" the tag "from your tags and from" those courses. Press Remove or Keep it.
  3. Press Done editing to finish.

Delete courses

  1. Close GSPro and its launcher.
  2. Tick the box beside each course you want to delete. The bar at the bottom shows how many courses you selected and how much space they use.
  3. Press "Delete N courses…". To delete only the open course, press Delete this course… in its panel.
  4. The box lists every course and its size. Press Delete for good or Cancel.
  5. Wait while each folder is deleted and checked. Keep GSPro closed until this finishes.

When deletion finishes, the status line says "Deleted" the courses "and checked each folder is gone", and shows how much space was freed.

Use a different courses folder

  1. On the folder line, press Change folder… and choose the folder that holds your course folders.
  2. To return to the folder named in GSPro's log, press Use GSPro's own folder.

Good to know

  • Deleting removes the course's folder from this PC for good. You cannot undo it. You can download courses again if GSPro still offers them; some, such as courses from a private server, may no longer be available.
  • GSPro removes a deleted course from its list the next time it starts and keeps your round history.
  • GSPro's practice area and multi range are never deleted and have no tick box.
  • Your stars, notes and tags are kept when you delete a course and return if you download it again. They are not included in RoomCaddie's backups.
  • RoomCaddie comes with 11 tags: Easy, Medium, Hard, Bad graphics, Good graphics, Great graphics, Kids, Scenic, Quick, Practice and Tour stop. You can make up to 40 tags of your own.
  • "All" and "None recorded" are filter names, so you cannot use them as tag names.
  • The Your library panel shows how much space all your courses use, how much space courses with no round started use, and your 10 biggest courses. Show them filters the list to courses with no round, and Sort by size puts the biggest courses first.
  • The dates come from GSPro's own round history. The line under the title shows when that history starts on this PC.
